District Priority Project - My City Clean City

A new community-driven afforestation initiative, the 'Palathara Mango Grove', was inaugurated at Vellur Palathara, Payyanur on 22 July 2026 under the District Priority - My City Clean City. The project aims to plant and nurture diverse varieties of mango saplings on government wasteland, with active public participation. The inaugural sapling planting was done by Forest Officer K.V. Shijin. The program was organized with the joint support of Kannur Social Forestry, Payyanur College Botany Department, NSS Unit 11, Kunhimangalam Mango Group, Payyanur Rotary Club, and Palathara Residents Association. The objective of the project is to conserve local mango germplasm and promote biodiversity. The initiative will focus on protecting rare and indigenous mango varieties found in areas. The event was presided over by Councillor C.P. Chandran and felicitated by Rtn Dr. Ratheesh Narayanan, Rtn Dr. Sudha Santhosh, President Rotary Payyanur. The project received wide participation.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Financial Assistance was handed over Mrs Alice Mathew for providing uniform materials for the inmates of St Johns Rehabilitation Centre on 22 Jul 2026. Mrs Alice Mathew hailed from Elambachi, Payyanur was a former Trainee of Rotary Payyanur Karmakshetra Tailoring Unit. She got Stroke recently and not able to do her tailoring work properly. Rotary Payyanur extended financial assistance to support Mrs Alice and her family. President Rtn Dr Sudha Santhosh handed over the same to Mrs Alice on 22 Jul 2026.

ROTARY SAHACHARI - SUBSIDIZED AUTO RIKSHAW SCHEME

Rotary Sahachari - a Subsidized Auto Rikshaw Scheme was inaugurated on 23 Jul 2026 at Rotary Bhavan, Payyanur. The project program was chaired by Rtn Dr Sudha Santhosh, President Rotary payyanur and inaugurated by Mrs Seema Teacher, Payyanur Municipality Welfare Standing Committee Chairperson. Two Autoriskha's were handed over to the beneficiaries Mr Haridasan KV and Mr Kaim AK. Keys were handed over to the beneficiaries by Rtn Prasad KR, MVD & Join RTO (In-Charge) Payyanur. Finaicial assistance from Rotary Payyanur was handed over by Rtn VG Nayanar, Past District Governor. Service project chair Rtn Adv MM Anto felicitated during the program. Project Chairman Rtn Madhusoodhanan C welcome the gathering and Rtn Babu Pallayil Secretary delivered vote of thanks. A total of 30 Rotarians attended the programme.

Rtn Anees Thayyil, Founder & CEO of Olivo Software Pvt Ltd, delivered a highly informative presentation on the topic: "Olivo ERP – Driving Digital Transformation for Smarter Businesses." He explained how Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions help organisations integrate their business processes, improve operational efficiency, optimise resource utilisation and facilitate informed decision-making through real-time business intelligence. He also demonstrated the capabilities of Olivo ERP in streamlining finance, inventory management, human resources, customer relationship management and operational workflows. The members actively interacted with the speaker during the question-and-answer session.

ROTARY INFORMATION TALK

Rotary’s 7 Areas of Focus: Rtn Dr. Vinod Kumar gave a brief overview of Rotary International’s month-wise Areas of Focus and explained how each month aligns with global service priorities. July Focus – Maternal & Child Health: The speaker emphasized that July is designated for Maternal & Child Health. He covered: Importance of antenatal care, safe delivery, and postnatal support Child nutrition, immunization, and early childhood development. Role of Rotarians in supporting Govt. health programs, PHCs, and community awareness drives Possible club projects like health camps, nutrition kits, and awareness classes. Club Alignment: He urged members to plan at least 1 service project this month aligned with Maternal & Child Health, in line with Rotary International and District 3204 goals. The session was well received by members. It provided clarity on Rotary’s strategic priorities and inspired the club to take meaningful action in the health sector this month.

First copy of Club Bulletin PARROLINES for the Rotary Year 26-27 was released on 04 July 2026 during Installation Day of Rotary Payyanur at KK Residency, Payyanur. Bulletin was released by GGR Rtn Karunakaran Nambiar by handing over the first copy to Charter Member Rtn Dr UV Shenoy. Chief of the of the installation ceremony Rtn Raju Subramanian, Past RI Director was also witnessed the bulletin release ceremony. He congratulates the entire team of publication especially Bulletin Editor Rtn Savitha N Shenoy.

MONTHLY IMMUNIZATION/ VACCINATION FOR JULY 2026

To administer Oral Polio Vaccine drops to children under 5 years and create awareness on “End Polio Now”, in alignment with Rotary International’s commitment to eradicate polio globally. The Rotary Club of Payyanur organized a Polio Vaccination booth on 04 July 2026. At Rotary Permanent Immunization Centre, Keloth Payyanur. Rotarians, Anns and ASHA health workers volunteered to guide parents and administer 2 drops of OPV to children. A total of 24 children were vaccinated during the drive. Pamphlets on polio awareness were distributed to parents. Impact - Directly contributed to Rotary’s global goal of keeping India polio-free. Reinforced Rotary’s public image as a service organization at the grassroots level.
